AGM and End Term November 26, 2025

Our AGM takes place next Wednesday, 26 November, 2025. All members are invited to attend. A gathering with pizza and some Prosecco etc will follow at 8.30 pm.

Film Night – 23 October ‘25

We are showing the film ‘La Mafia Uccide solo d’Estate’ on Thursday, 23 October, in The Building Block, Sligo at 7.30 pm sharp. The film is in the Italian language with English subtitles.

All members are invited to attend. The film will be followed by tea and coffee.

Class Resumes

This is important information regarding to the resumption of Amicizia Classes on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, in The Building Block in Sligo town.

Due to lack of space, and volume of returning students, we will not take a new Beginner’s class this September. This is to ensure that our current students get the best that we can offer them.

This decision is for this year only. We hope to have an extra room and teacher in our next year. We apologise to anyone who was hoping to join as a Beginner this year.

We have space for a couple of new Intermediate students, so if you feel you have some Italian you can still email us to see what is possible. There are only a very few spots, so don’t waste time!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Classes:
Held in The Building Block, Sligo, on Wednesday evenings.

Time:
7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

Cost of Class:
€160 per 12 week term (11 with 2 Hours of class and one Social evening). There are 2 terms in our year.

Annual Membership:
An additional €30 – only in the first term.

Registration:
Takes place on the first evening at 7 pm at The Building Block, if students have not already registered online.

Schedule:
One hour Grammar and one hour Conversation per week (50 mins with break)

There is no mid-term break
Classes start promptly at 7.30 pm, are of 50 minutes duration, with coffee break in between.
First term finishes in late November and our second term will start in January with the same format.

If you feel we might have space for you, as a new student, at Intermediate level only, please email as soon as possible. Our classes are capped at 10 students per class.

We really regret not being able to take Beginners this year but will hope to do so again next year.

Summer Gathering June ‘25

A very pleasant evening was had by all who could attend our summer party last Friday. Here are a few scenes from the evening.

We are back from Salerno May ‘25

Here is a video/slideshow of most of our activities. Some did more cultural visits than this but I didn’t get any pictures!

Buona Pasqua

Our classes are now finished until September. We celebrated the end of a very successful year a couple of weeks ago. Our next event is our trip to Salerno, Italy, to attend school and enjoy the sights in early May. There is still space if you wish to join us! We do a week of school in Accademia Leonardo language school, in Salerno. We will have lots of time to explore the surrounding places of interest and enjoy the wonderful Italian food.
